Carson Converse Studio

Artist Studio and Longarm Quilting Services

Carson Converse (b. 1978) is an artist and designer passionate about textiles. After studying sculpture, her interest in the decorative arts and architecture led her to complete a master’s degree in interior design. While she continues working in various creative disciplines, quilting-based, textile art has become her primary medium.

Carson’s process is fluid and relies on constant experimentation, observation, and reaction. Influenced by artists such as Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, and Shen Chen, she works to create minimalist compositions that contain layers of complexity that unfold as viewers interact with them. Her work is also influenced by memories of landscapes, many of which are linked to western Massachusetts where she lives and works.

Carson’s award-winning work has been published and exhibited nationally and internationally. It is held in private and public collections including the International Quilt Museum and Study Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In addition to her art practice, Carson offers longarm quilting services. To learn more email [email protected].
