The Deerfield River Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting a Fly Fishing Tournament on the Deerfield River. This is a fun event designed for every level of fly fisher, from beginner to advanced. Participants choose three copies of a single fly pattern for each day and tally the inches of trout they catch and release. The event occurs on free fishing weekend (the first weekend in June) so participants do not need a fishing license.

The entry fee of $35 for non-members ($25 for members of TU) includes admission to the event, breakfast Saturday morning, and a cookout Sunday afternoon. All participants are entered into a raffle for fly fishing-related prizes, including a rod and reel. Sign up for the event and see more information. This event is intended to showcase the Deerfield River as one of the best fly fishing destinations in New England. We also hope to promote camaraderie among fly fishers and bring more members into the Deerfield River Watershed chapter of Trout Unlimited.

This is a wade fishing, catch-and-release-only event. During free fishing weekend, the dam operator provides low flows (weather permitting) over the entire weekend, making the river safer and more accessible for wade fishing. Participants are encouraged to fish with a partner for safety.

Location Deerfield River; Headquarters at Zoar Picnic Grounds, Zoar Road, Rowe MA
