Salmon Falls Gallery (1 Ashfield St): CHRISTIN COUTURE: The Nearest Faraway Place
Encaustic Landscape Paintings 

For over a decade in all weather and seasons Christin Couture has drawn, painted, photographed, and filmed from a precipice overlooking the Deerfield River's Salmon Falls, her 'nearest faraway place' close to home in Shelburne Falls, MA. The Nearest Faraway Place exhibits a selection of the encaustic landscape paintings in this series of works. Shelburne Arts Cooperative (26 Bridge St): Exhibition of photographs, "Portals and Passages," by Amanda Quinby. A collection of platinum/palladium and gum bichromate prints of windows, doors, stairways, and bridges. First discovered in the 19th century, gum printing was one of the earliest means of bringing color to the photographic process. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the palladium print was one of the most popular photographic techniques, supplanted by silver when the price of palladium soared during the first World War. Refreshments 2-5 PM!

Molly Cantor Pottery (20 Bridge St): Decorate the sidewalks with chalk outside of her shop!

The Art Garden (14 Depot St): Regional Teen Art Exhibit: "Works in Progress" organized by ARTeens for teens. Exhibit runs: June 10 - 30 and is supported in part by Local Cultural Councils.
Opening Reception: 6 - 8pm. Music, poetry, and performances from 7-8pm. 

The Art Garden is located in the Trolley Museum building. Parking access is via Elm St. or walk from Salmon Falls Gallery via Depot St. Directions on website: www.theartgarden.org 


Arms Library (60 Bridge St): Friends of the Arms Library Book Sale, 10 am - 3 pm. All money earned from this event goes to support programming, operations and special projects at the Arms Library.


Village Information Center (75 Bridge St): The Shelburne Falls Area Women's Club will host their annual tag sale 9 am - 2 pm!

 EV River Cube S Falls 2.0

A special performance by Exploded View: River down at the Glacial Potholes on Deerfield Ave from 4-6 pm. Listen for the Ageless Waves of Rhythm drumming, starting at 3 pm to call you down to the Potholes! Supported by HATCH (Hilltown Arts & Thriving Community Happenings).

The Crescent Dancers (pictured right), Western Mass' belly dancing group, will perform at the Arms Library (75 Bridge St) at 1pm, and then dance over the Bridge of Flowers, their true hearts' desire. 


UPDATE 6/8/17: Our river was overly excited about its celebration and was a little agressive with our dam...All on-water activities have been cancelled due to recent flooding and damages to the #3 dam. You can still enjoy the river's natural beauty safely on shore!
