Description

love & pickles on the Lower East side    CROSSING DELANCEY*

A sweet, charming, slightly offbeat, wistful  romantic comedy about an unassuming young woman in New York City (Amy Irving) who wavers between her simple upbringing and the lure of the contemporary social scene whose “Bubbie” leads her to a Jewish matchmaker, and ultimately to kind, sensitive Sam the  pickle-man (Peter Riegert.)  One of the best “date movies” ever.  Sylvia Miles, Reizl Bozyk.  Directed by Joan Micklin Silver. 1988. PG. Color. 97 min.
*We are pleased to be a venue for the Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival, who
co-sponsor Saturday's show and promises to provide pickles for sampling in the lobby.
