Both projects are aimed at encouraging creatively addressing issues of sustainability. 7th grade students studying with Sam Lydiard made the wind turbines. The 8th grade students are making tiny home scale models of their own design.  Students designed manually a tiny home with a foundation of no more than 500 sq.ft., then replicated the design into an online CAD program, and translated their designs into a scale model made of mainly foam board. Tiny homes are a way to live energy efficiently, reduce waste, and avoid excess "stuff" that will end up in landfills. (Photo left: Mohawk 8th grade students work on their tiny house designs)
