2010 Bridge Street Banner Policy

Bridge Street Banner Policy Adopted

(1/12/09) The Shelburne Falls Area Partnership, comprised of the Buckland and Shelburne Select Boards and the Board of Directors of the Shelburne Falls Area Business Association, have been responsible for organizing the installation of the Bridge Street Banners to promote local community events. In an effort to improve the process, we have outlined the guidelines for scheduling the installation, materials needed, and recommendations for the banner.

 
A small team of individuals have been trained to hang the banners and each organization will need to provide one volunteer to assist with the installation and removal of the banner.  The volunteer will not be asked to climb, but will assist in various ways.  There will be a fee of $50 for West County organizations and a $100 fee for organizations located outside of West County. A completed application form and payment must be postmarked one month prior to the event.

Scheduling Installation:

Each organization will be required to complete and return the Bridge Street Banner Application (available as a PDF document[140KB]) and the banner to the SFABA office four weeks prior to the intended date that the organization would like the banner to be installed.  Banner request will be based on a first-come first-serve basis.  

Materials:

Banner with grommets

Nylon rope

Carabiners must all be the installed in the same direction and the same size

Requirements:

•    the preferred banner size is 20 feet in length and 2 ½ feet wide

•    there must be grommets in each of the four corners and across the top of the banner every 3 feet

•    the ideal rope is nylon 45-50 lb weight should be attached to each corner that are 40 feet in length

•    banners must be printed on both sides
